My archive photographs from Albania, which span twenty years.
We begin in the year 2000 when I lived and worked in Tirana and these first ones are of the two places in Tirana where I spent most of my time, the Rruga Abdyl Frasheri, where I lived in an apartment block (on the eighth floor) and the IRC offices where I worked, in Rruga Mujo Ulqinaku.
Tirana has changed so much in the past twenty years that there are some parts of the city centre which I can barely recognize. The outer appearance does not match the images in my memory. For me, the photographs from 2000 show a vanished time and in some respects, where the cityscape has been so altered, it's like a vanished place as well.
