There is such a contrast in Sofia ...Thank you Ruby! There is such a contrast in Sofia between the old, the new and the inbetween, from the socialist realist times. Some Bulgarians think it's a muddle but I found it fascinating. There's a great debate going on as to what to do with the communist era statues and sculptures - destroy them or keep them in a particular place as a kind of museum record?
